Evgeniy Sukachev

Mr. Sukachov is the Senior Partner at Black Sea Law Company, a professional in international arbitration practice, shipping, and international trade with over 20 years of experience in arbitration and dispute resolution.

Evgeniy has extensive experience acting in international arbitrations under the rules of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Shanghai Arbitration Commission (SHAC).

He has knowledge that encompasses all aspects of shipping law, commercial law, insurance law, and investment legislation. Due to the developed international relations, Mr. Sukachov has the opportunity to serve Clients in arbitrations taking place around the globe, including the world’s leading arbitral seats, such as London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai.

Evgeniy Sukachov is experienced in complex arbitrations involving the purchase and sale of vessels, and the resolution of disputes regarding mortgages and encumbrances on merchant vessels. The vast majority of such commercial disputes were under the rules of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) and English law. Evgeniy acted for a major panamax and capesize bulk carrier owner/operator on its long-term charters in arbitration disputes over USD 50 million.

He has many years of experience in obtaining security and enforcement of arbitration awards, including the freezing of assets in the United States, arrest of vessels by maritime claim, and arrest of cargo. Advises Clients on many disputes in the agricultural and trading sectors around the world, including in Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC).
