Dr Cristina Alexe

Dr Cristina Alexe is a Partner of a Romanian law office having 27 years of experience in legal matters.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has graduated from the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Central and Eastern Europe (ICC Institute of World Business Law and ICC International Court of Arbitration) and the Diploma Course for International Arbitrators from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC)/Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA). She holds a PhD summa cum laude in Civil Procedure on “The Civil Trial Judge between a Pro-active Role and Arbitrariness”.

Dr Cristina Alexe acted and continues to act as an international arbitrator having sat as coarbitrator, sole arbitrator, President and emergency arbitrator in over 55 domestic and international arbitrations under various rules of arbitration (ICC, DIS, VIAC and CICA CCIR) and having acted as counsel in over 30 arbitrations (ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and CICA CCIR).

Her arbitration experience is complemented by strong knowledge and continued practice as a transactional lawyer in M&A/Privatisation, Banking & Finance, Real Estate and Project Finance areas. Dr Cristina Alexe is a Lecturer at the International Arbitration LLM Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest taught in English language. She is Editor in Chief of the Romanian Arbitration Journal a quarterly publication in the field published by Wolters Kluwer available also in the Kluwer Arbitration database.

Dr Cristina Alexe is also Founding member of ArbCEE – Arbitration Association of Central and Eastern Europe.
